Chicago Gourmet 2013 Photo Round-Up

September 30, 2013

The culinary event of the year, and the one I have looked forward to most, is Chicago Gourmet. The sixth annual event took place this past weekend in Millennium Park. Sadly, I had never made it to Chicago Gourmet in the past, so I was even more excited to check it out this year. The BF and I went on Saturday and I was so stuffed full of fine wines and food that I didn't go back on Sunday. Rough life.

Anyway, the entire event was very well-coordinated and I was impressed with the venue, quality of food, and variety of events, wines, and chefs. The highlight of my experience was definitely the Grand Cru event. Grand Cru was a separate ticketed event on the rooftop patio of the Harris Theater. During the event, local superstar chefs including Graham Elliot and Takashi Yagihashi were paired with international chefs to cook up tasty gourmet bites. There were also many booths of fancy wines that were not being poured at the main Chicago Gourmet event. I know nothing about wine, but I do know the $300 bottle of Dom Perignon I tried was quite delicious!

Check out some of the photos from my eating adventure at Chicago Gourmet, and be sure to attend next year if you've never been! For a more-detailed preview of the weekend's event, head over to Chicago Foodies.

Were you there this year, what was your favorite wine/food/cooking demo/seminar?
