Grass-Fed Beef Never Tasted So Good

#1 Burger with Aged Cheddar, Balsamic Red Onions, Bacon and BBQ Sauce

A cold Saturday night warranted a trip to DMK Burger Bar for some delicious comfort food. What better way to warm up than with a grass-fed beef burger and fries?

 DMK does a few things, and they do them well. There is an offering of 9 beef burgers, plus several vegetarian and lamb burgers. Next, there is a mouthwatering selection of fries. From sweet potato fries to Wisconsin cheddar and scallion fries, you really can't go wrong. If that wasn't enough, you can try one of their macaroni and cheese creations or a homemade peanut butter shake. As with any great burger place, DMK also offers an ever-changing beer list, featuring many local and craft brews that pair perfectly with you meal.

On my last visit, I opted for the #1 burger, topped with aged cheddar, smoked bacon, caramelized balsamic red onions and barbecue sauce. Each burger comes nestled between a homemade bun dusted with flour. DMK prides themselves on only serving grass-fed beef, and I think it makes all the difference. The burgers are pressed thin (not as thin as a Steak 'n Shake burger), so if that's not your style, order the Triple Decker!

To compliment my burger, I tried the Parmesan & Truffle Cream fries. Wow, is all I can say. The hand cut fries delivered on cheesy flavor and I couldn't stop eating them! Luckily they are available in portions for sharing! To make a great thing even better, the fries were accompanied by a pot of garlic aioli for dipping. Now, that's perfection! To wash it all down, I taste-tested the Great Lakes Brewing Company's Dortmunder Gold Lager.

I recommend DMK for burger lovers, beef and veggie alike.  DMK has a simple menu, dark and modern atmosphere and the staff is both friendly and accomodating. DMK does not take reservations and weekends and evenings are especially packed so show up early and expect to wait--I promise you, it's worth it! DMK Burger Bar gets 4 stars for its juicy-and extremely well-priced ($8)- grass-fed burgers, a no-frills menu and killer fries.
